Batteries are the number one reason for fires within the metal recycling sector and the number three reason for fires in the paper recycling industry. What is stupid about that, is that in both streams there should be no batteries. Unfortunately everyone (except of course the people that go to the VRM), don't sort there waste correctly and thus batteries end up in the wrong places. To tackle this we can do two things, change the behavior of 8Billion people... or we need to start incorporating smarter ways to remove those batteries from the waste streams.
